A Facetune alternative for natural retouching on iPhone

PhotoTune is a narrower app than Facetune. It edits photos on iPhone, keeps skin texture when it smooths, never reshapes a face on its own, and runs its retouching on the phone. If you want those things, it is an alternative. If you want Android, video or a free tier, it is not, and the table says so.

Why people look for a Facetune alternative

The usual reasons are that edits look obviously edited, that a smoothing slider erases pores along with blemishes, or that one-tap slimming and reshaping change what a person looks like. PhotoTune is built around avoiding those: smoothing separates fine detail from tone and puts the detail back, and the only tool that can move a shape is a brush you drag by hand.

Where Facetune is the better choice

Facetune runs on Android and the web as well as iPhone, edits video, and has a much larger set of tools, including AI features PhotoTune does not have. It also has free features (what is free in Facetune, and what it costs). If any of those matter, Facetune fits and this app does not.

What PhotoTune does that is different

Presets save a whole edit — skin, whitening, lighting and colour — against facial landmarks, so the same edit applies to the next photo from a different angle or of a different person. Retouching, face detection and export run on the phone with no connection, and a recorded session sent no image data. The 10 AI tools, such as headshots, backdrops and hairstyles, are the exception: they send a photo when you tap one, and it is not stored.

Ask a question
What is a good Facetune alternative for natural-looking edits?

PhotoTune is built for that: smoothing always keeps at least 35% of fine skin detail, and there are no one-tap face-shape controls. It is iPhone only, on the App Store.

Is PhotoTune free like Facetune?

No. PhotoTune has no free tier: every plan is a subscription that includes every tool, and the annual plan starts with a 3-day free trial, charged when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Facetune offers free features alongside its VIP subscription.

Can PhotoTune slim a face like Facetune?

Not with a one-tap slider. The only shape tool is the manual Reshape brush, which moves exactly what you drag and is never saved into a Preset.

Does PhotoTune work on Android or edit videos?

No to both. It is an iPhone photo editor. If you need Android, the web or video editing, Facetune covers those and this app does not.

Can I reuse an edit on other photos in PhotoTune?

Yes. Save an edit as a Preset and apply it to the next photo. It is stored against facial landmarks, so it fits a different angle or a different person.
