What this is
PhotoTune is an iPhone application for retouching portrait photographs. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms.
Your account
You need an account to use PhotoTune. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure. One person, one account — do not share it.
Free trial and subscriptions
- PhotoTune is sold as auto-renewing subscriptions, bought through the App Store: weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual. Every plan includes every tool. You can sign in and look around without one; using the features that need a subscription asks you to choose a plan.
- Free trial. The annual plan starts with a 3-day free trial, if your Apple Account is eligible — Apple allows one per account. You confirm the subscription when the trial starts. When the trial ends, the annual subscription begins and your Apple Account is charged for it — $99.99 in the United States — unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. If you cancel in time, you are not charged. The quarterly, monthly and weekly plans have no free trial.
- Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm a purchase, or, for the annual plan with a free trial, when the trial ends. Prices are shown in the App Store in your local currency before you confirm. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card.
- Automatic renewal. A subscription renews automatically for the same period and at the same price unless automatic renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Cancelling. Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings (on iPhone: Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions), not here. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- If you buy a subscription while a free trial is still running, the unused part of the trial ends when the purchase is made.
- The AI tools are metered: the free trial includes 5 AI edits, and a subscription 30 a month. Everything else in the app is unlimited.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policy. We cannot issue them directly.
Packs of AI edits
- If you have a subscription, you can buy extra AI edits in the app, in packs of 20, 40 or 80. A pack is a one-time purchase through the App Store, charged to your Apple Account when you confirm it. It is not a subscription and it does not renew.
- Extra edits are used only after the AI edits your plan includes for the month — or for the free trial — have been used. They do not expire, and they stay usable if your subscription ends. Saving a photo still needs a subscription then, as it does for anyone without one, and the app says so before an extra edit is used.
- They are kept with your account and cannot be moved to another one. If you delete your account, any you have not used are lost.
- An edit is taken from a pack when the AI tool runs. If the edit could not be made because of a fault on our side, it is given back.
- Refunds for a pack are Apple's to give, like every purchase here. If Apple refunds one, the extra edits it added are removed.
Your photos and your Presets
Your photographs are yours. We claim no rights over them. Editing happens on your device; the AI tools are the exception, and send the photo you have open to our service only when you tap one, which returns the result and keeps no copy. The Presets you create are yours too.
Acceptable use
Do not use PhotoTune to create images intended to deceive or to misrepresent someone, and do not edit photographs of people who have not agreed to it. The app limits how far a face can be altered, but that limit is a safeguard, not permission.
What we do not promise
PhotoTune is provided as it is. We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will suit a particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from using it.
Because your photos and edits live on your device, keeping backups of them is up to you. If you delete the app or lose the device, your photos and saved Presets go with it.
Ending it
You can stop using PhotoTune and delete your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. We may suspend an account that is being used in breach of these terms.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is material, the date above changes and we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
